Event Information
After a two-year hiatus, I am delighted to invite you to our annual reunion luncheon for any Sutton Valence leavers from the 1940s or 1950s at 12.30pm on Tuesday 1st March at the Royal Air Force Club in Piccadilly. Up until the pandemic caused the cancellation of last year’s event, this has been a very successful reunion, traditionally organised on the first Tuesday of March each year. Over the last 20 years, the event had been organised by Ian Kay (1941 M) who, as I am sure you are aware, sadly died last summer. Given his keen involvement with this event, it is only fitting that this year’s event is held in his memory. I hope you are able to join us to remember Ian and all that he did for Sutton Valence School and the Old Suttonian community.
The luncheon will also be chance to meet the School’s new Headmaster, Mr James Thomas. Although James started at the School last summer, the continuing effects of the Covid pandemic have limited his opportunities to meet Old Suttonians. With that in mind, he is excited for the opportunity to meet you and learn more about the School as it was in the 1940s and 1950s. Since the last event, we also have a new staff member in the Development Office – Victoria Evenden - and I hope the luncheon also proves a valuable opportunity for Victoria to meet you. As with previous events, I am delighted that we will be joined by David Pickard, the SVS Foundation Archivist, who will be talking about Ian’s connections to the School and his abiding legacy.
The event will cost £45.00 per head for a three-course meal. If you would like to attend, we would request that you purchase your ticket via the following link below. Alternatively, if you would like to pay on the day, please let us know by emailing the Development Office before Friday 18th February.
Booking Information
In order to book any tickets, you need an existing online account on SVS Foundation Connect. To register on the site, please click here.
In the event that you are booking more than one ticket, the booking system is set up so that the first ticket will always be allocated to you - as such, please ensure that you provide the names and details of your guest(s), when prompted to do so (rather than providing your own details again). Please also ensure that you do not use your own email address for any of your guests - the booking system requires guest email addresses to be unique.
Please note that the event is subject to change and/or cancellation subject to any changes to Covid-19 guidance. In the event of cancellation, all tickets will be refunded.
