We cordially invite you to join us for the book launch of The Chakrata Incident by Old Suttonian Neville Sarony (1958 M), on Thursday 19th May between 5.30pm and 6.30 pm in the School Library, preceded by drinks and canapés.
We are delighted to have the opportunity to host Neville, who is visiting the UK to promote the new book. The Chakrata Incident is the latest in his Max Devlin series and is the prequel to The Dharma Expedient and Devlin’s Chakra (both of which can be found in the School's library). The story centres upon Max Devlin who is a high-flying officer in the Royal Gurkha Rifles, destined to command and achieve senior rank. Along the way, he finds his ethics and principles being challenged by his career ambition, and it doesn’t take too much guessing to work out which wins out.
As you may know, Neville is a well-known, practising QC in Hong Kong, with vast legal experience. Following military service and a stint in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, he established a law firm in the Valley of Kathmandu, Nepal, followed by a practice in London, before moving to Hong Kong in 1985.
This will be an excellent opportunity to meet him, discuss the book, life in Nepal and Hong Kong and the legal world. Drinks and canapés will be served before the discussion and there will be an opportunity to purchase signed copies of the book on the evening. The event is open to the whole School community - pupils, Old Suttonians, parents, past parents and staff, as well as the local community. To help us organise the catering, we would be very grateful if you could register your interest by clicking on the button below.
