We are delighted to announce the SVS Foundation Car Show will return this summer on Sunday 16th June between 11.00am and 3.00pm, on Upper. The biennial event was last run in 2022 and was extremely popular, both in terms of exhibitors and spectators. So, whether you are a seasoned exhibitor, fancy showing your car for the first time, or would just like to spend a summer’s afternoon viewing the entries, and taking in some Cricket, then we can promise you a glorious day of family entertainment. There is no charge for entry or to register a car.
We have a bumper offering of activities including:
The range of cars previously exhibited has been extensive and includes Land Rovers, MG Midgets, Ford Capris, Volkswagen Golf GTIs, through to super cars including McLarens, Aston Martins and Ferraris. We also have an array of different vehicles, old and new, from tractors to military hardware - there is something for everyone. This year promises to be no different, so if you have a vehicle that you would like to include, please do book.
Entry will be via the gateway on the Warmlake Road (what3words). If you are driving from the village past the School on the A274 with The Upper on your left hand side, you need to drive past The Upper and turn left at the Warmlake Crossroads. The gate will be found a short way along that road and will be clearly marked. If you are driving from Maidstone, you will reach the Warmlake Crossroads prior to The Upper. You should turn right at the crossroads and again, the gate will be on your left a short way along the road.
If you would like to register a car for the show, which is free, please click on the 'Register Car' button below and complete the online form, so that we are able to provide a dashboard entry card. We would ask that all entries meet the following criteria, whether it be car, motorcycle, van, lorry, bus, tractor or other mode of transport:
Pre-War and Vintage - any vehicle registered prior to 1939;
Classics - any vehicle registered prior to September 1981 (and post 1939);
Future Classics - any vehicle registered post September 1981.
Please note that we have separate parking available should you need to transport your vehicle by trailer; we would simply ask you to indicate that you require trailer parking when you register. Additionally, if your vehicle requires cover, we have a covered space in the main marquee. Obviously these spaces are limited, so please indicate that you require a covered space when you registering and we will confirm your place nearer the time.
If you are unsure about registration, or would list assistance with the booking form, please contact the Development Office - development@svs.org.uk or by calling 01622 845240.
The SVS Car Show forms part of a larger reorganisation of the SVS Automotive Group (formerly the Vintage Car group), which we hope will provide a hub of SVS-centred expertise and interest, which will inspire the next generation of designers, engineers and technologists, whilst also celebrating the classics of the past.
