An important part of the School’s careers provision is its long-running Careers Fair. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we have not been able to host this event since 2019, but we are delighted to see it return to the School's event calendar this year. Past events have proved to be an invaluable and informative resource for the students as a mix of local and national employers, Old Suttonians, current parents, Higher Education providers and STEM ambassadors spend a morning imparting some of the knowledge and passion that they have for their chosen careers to our young people. The Sutton Valence community has a common educational experience but demonstrates that there is an enormous range of career openings available, with each giving a very different experience of working life.
For the current pupils, the chance to hear from alumni, many of whom attended Careers Fair themselves as pupils, is all the more motivating. These occasions give many of our students their first glimpse into the world of work and in the past they have often proved to be inspirational in the chosen career path for some.
After its brief hiatus, the Careers Fair will be returning on the morning of Friday 21st March. As before, it will be hosted in the Cornwallis Building between 9.45am and 1.00pm. We hope that it will showcase a wide variety of careers, professions and apprenticeships, to inspire and engage the students and to assist them in making subject and career choices.
If you would be interested in taking part, either in person, or arranging for a representative of your company or organisation to attend, please email the Development Office. The School's Careers, Education and Futures Leader, Louise Ring, will then be in touch to provide you with more information. Thank you in advance for your support of the event.
