We were delighted to host the first Old Suttonian Farming group get-together on Saturday at the Weald of Kent Ploughing Match. A range of Old Suttonians from 1962 leavers through to 1999 leavers, together with parents and past parents, enjoyed the hospitality of the BTF Partnership stand at the event.
In addition to a number of local farming OS, we were delighted to reconnect with Doug Gardner (1965 L), who only recently returned to the UK from South Africa. As well as some liquid refreshment and the opportunity to reconnect with one another, the group enjoyed a great view of the Spitfire display from Biggin Hill Airdrome.
As the OS Farming group grows, we hope to be able to offer similar events in the future. If you are interested in getting involved with the group or coming along to a future event, please get in touch with Charles Tassell (1977 F) via www.svsfoundation.org.uk, or by emailing development@svs.org.uk. The next potential OS Farming event will be The Heritage Transport Show at the Kent Showground on 10th October.
