David Pickard (Staff 1977-2001, 2009-2015) conducted one of his famous 'DP Walks' at the end of June. The River Thames 'Gateway to the World' saw DP treat his fellow walkers to a insightful and entertaining trip from the Tower of London ending at The Queen's House in Greenwich.
This walk takes in Millwall Dock and Canary Wharf, Tower Hill and Old Billingsgate. They all deserved a well earned rest en route and repaired to The Prospect of Whitby, for some well earned refrshments. The sun shone as summer finally arrived in London for our intrpid walkers.
David now has his own website, Walking with DP, which highlights a variety of curated walks which can be booked for small groups on mutually convenient date. As a seasoned storyteller, DP breathes life into the forgotten chapters of London's history, transporting you to a bygone era. From the narrow alleyways of medieval London to the grandeur of Victorian architecture, you'll discover the layers of the city's rich tapestry.
